WPA
A Wi-Fi standard designed to improve upon the features of Wireless Equivalent Privacy (WEP) but work with existing WEP-enabled Wi-Fi products. Improvements over WEP include data encryption through the Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) and user authentication through the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP). While still an active standard, WPA has been superseded by the IEEE 802.11i standard, called WAP2 by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
