PEER-TO-PEER
A distributed processing architecture, abbreviated P2P, in which each workstation/host on a network has equivalent capabilities and can support both client and server processes under control of the workstation user. In P2P environments such as LAN workgroups or Internet's KaZaa, UI, and BL, functions run in local client processes while DM functions run in remote server process under control of that workstation's user. This differs from client/server architectures where servers are dedicated to server processes and have no local user/client capability.
