MUX
A communications device that performs multiplexing by combining signals from two or more slower speed devices into a shared higher speed channel and demultiplexing by recovering and separating the slower speed signals at the other end of the higher speed channel. A multiplexer performs both multiplexing and demultiplexing. A channel or control unit that allows computer-controlled selection of any one of a number of analog signals as input to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
