DES
(FIPS-46-3) An older NIST encrypton standard used when transmitting sensitive information. The symmetric-key (or single-key or secret-key) block cipher algorithm operates on 64-bit blocks and uses a 56-bit key. The algorithm supports three levels of keys: Master, Sub-master, and Session keys. See AES. See TDES.
